This Is What My Eyes Do

I am not only asking for help.

I am showing you what is at risk.

I am a visual creator.

I work with light,
with texture,
with color,
with detail that most people do not even notice.

These images are part of my work and my life.

Opera,
set and costume design,
painting,
visual research,
books,
architecture,
atmosphere.

I have worked on productions such as
Aroldo and Stiffelio,
and on the reconstruction of Il viaggio a Reims
and Ines de Castro.

I have trained my eyes for years.

At Bellas Artes,
they used to test me with nearly identical shades of color.

I could identify the smallest variation in each one.

That is what I am at risk of losing.

Not a hobby.

A lifetime.

If I lose my sight,
I lose the core of everything I am.

This is why I am trying to save it.
